The project involved the construction of a fourteen-storey steel-framed office building situated in central London. Our role encompassed the design of the foundations, which had to navigate and span over the Thames Tideway Tunnel.
To address the structural challenges posed by this unique site, we designed a robust foundation system featuring a heavily reinforced concrete transfer slab. This transfer slab is supported by rows of sleeved contiguous piles, providing the necessary stability and load distribution for the building’s shear core.
